For this project, I developed a full brand redesign for the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department. The department needed a refreshed identity that better aligned with its mission of enhancing community wellness through recreation, open space, and natural resources.

The existing branding felt inconsistent and did not fully reflect the diversity, energy, and environmental focus of Mecklenburg County. My objective was to create a modern, clean, and cohesive visual identity that represents connection, inclusivity, and accessibility for all ages and abilities.

I focused on designing a system that feels empathetic, trustworthy, and people-first. The visual direction emphasizes nature, movement, and community while maintaining simplicity and clarity across applications. The updated brand strengthens recognition, creates consistency, and more accurately represents the department’s role in connecting neighborhoods, protecting green spaces, and supporting active lifestyles throughout the county.
